Banyakitara Heritage Cultural Foundation
The Banyakitara Heritage Cultural Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Banyakitara people, encompassing the Banyankore, Bakiga, Banyoro, Batooro, Bagungu, Baruuli, Bagungu, Batuku, Basongora, Banyabindi, Bahororo, Batagwenda, Banyaruguru, Bahima, Bakooki and others in Western and West central Uganda, Bahaya, Banyambo, Bazinza, Bakerebe and Basubi in North Western Tanzania, Basongora, Balega, Bahema in Eastern DRCongo.
The foundation recognizes the importance of safeguarding and revitalizing the unique traditions, languages, art forms, and historical legacies that define the Banyakitara identity. The foundation is guided by principles of inclusivity, respect, and a commitment to the sustainable development of the banyakitara cultural heritage.
